Back in Action!

Due to pharyngitis and the flu going around (and god, of course, blessed my little body with both at the same time), writing and eye-candy have been on the D L. BUT, never fear... my health is now on the up hill run, and life's finally getting back into the normal swing of chaotic mess.
But you know what's also "Back in Action"? Those granny-florals for Fall 2010 RTW... as silly as it might "sound", just take a look at some of Tuleh's magnificent creations involving fur, shorts, and tights... I think you MIGHT just fall in love.

If only....

Although for some of us, motherhood is quite a ways away, but if God could make me as cute of a mother as Gwen Stefani... I wouldn't ask for anything else, ever. :) Gwen's been around for a long time now, and her style is ever-changing. She, my lovelies, is what we like to call the "Risk Taker", and, my goodness, does she pull it off. Punk, Harajuku Lover, Classic pin-up, Rockabilly, Glamourous.... these only top off the extreme list of styles that Mrs. Stefani has "been there, done that" with.

The handsome lady of fashion's children are going to be RIDICULOUSLY good-looking. And there's some proof.

Everything is better with STUDS.

I'm challenging you to let your inner rocker out this coming week. Don't be afraid! Here's one of my moodboards for a collection I designed, inspired by Allison Mossart, lead singer of The Kills and The Dead Weather (alongside Jack White). Eat your little hearts out.

Another chilly one, folks!

Since the entire country of the big U. S of A is experiencing ridiculous arctic winds and snow flurries, what's better fitting than doing a segment of sweaters!!!

Just because it's cold outside, my dears, does not mean that you have to all frumpy like your great-aunt Hilda. Give these gorgeous garments a moment of your time. A warm fuzzy feeling guaranteed.

Delicate Bones

Yet another lovely discovery on Etsy.com... Cleverly called the Untamed Menagerie. Necklaces, and some earrings, simple, yet frivolously fragile... my personal favorite? The silhouette of a girl's head with a spider on it. Or maybe it's the thorax... humm.

If you haven't heard yet....

Online shopping is on the rise. Although I don't shop online very often, (unless I already know what sizes I wear in the brand), sometimes there are exceptions. Ladies and Gents, may I present Guilt Fuse.

actually purchase from
the website... AND they have new discount designer sales every week. Believe me..
they go super fast too! So if you're in love with this week's Seavee shoes, or those wide-legged jeans from Unknown
Factory... DON'T WAIT!

No snow.. but plenty of burlesque!

When it comes to getting inspiration for my projects, it's usually from the 1940's girls of the Pin-Up and Burlesque culture. Back when Burlesque first cam about, it was a humorous theatrical involving parody and grotesque exaggeration. Then in the 20th century U.S. of A, it became associated with a variety show including, the obviously main attraction.... striptease.
No no... its' not what your thinking. I don't mean g-strings and and those sky high heels. I'm talking about over-the-top themed costumes, feathers, pin-up, and pasties!

I've attached a link of a lovely video I found of Gypsy Rose Lee, the mother of Burlesque dancing... this woman is a true role model and pioneer. And also enjoy these images of vintage and modern day burlesque... if you need directions on how to make pasties after this...

PS... Here's a website to directions on how to make your OWN pasties... I won't tell!

VINTAGE

Think about it... vintage literally NEVER goes out of style. The older it gets, the more amazing it is to find on a rack in that hole-in-the-wall shop on Ponce de Leon Ave. When it comes to buying vintage online, Ebay and Etsy are the treasure troves of all things vintage. My absolute favorite vint. store on Ebay is Lullie Vintage and Recycled Fashion. One word... DIVINE. But if you see something you love, hurry up... they fly away pretty hasty.

Oh Dita!

As many of you have probably already seen, or heard of, Dita Von Teese has a spread in Harper's Bazaar that was published quite recently, but since I'm in a passionately love affair with Miss. Von Teese's style and aura... how could I resist.

A true beauty

New Year, New Trends

Happy Monday everyone! Time for school and work to fire back up, so I hope you've had your coffee fix for the day. Eye candy for today? These adorable pieces from an online store named Nostalgia, found on Etsy.com. I'm planning to purchase the animal one-shoulder dress... it reminds me of the animal crackers I use to devour when I was younger.
How delectable is this dress! You could either
wear it as a cocktail frock or a post-modern
wedding dress... ooo la la!

She's right... this definitely reminds me of
Lady Gaga attire.. very 80's but very glam rock n' roll.
You've got to have guts to pull this one off.

It's simple, but I adore it because it's versatile...
wear in the dead of winter with patterned tights, AND the spring with brown
gladiators. Yes, yes, and yes.
MY LOVE... I WILL PURCHASE YOU... the
detailing is a lovely genius that I must
wear.
